I live in West Valley City in Salt Lake County with my wife, Mandy. Home
is where the long view lives: family, neighbors, and the small habits that
make a week feel steady.
Utah shaped how I show up. I value direct talk, earned trust, and showing
up for the people nearby. Community is not a slogan. It is the quiet work
of being useful where you already are.
From May 1997 to May 1999 I served an LDS mission in Brasil Belo Horizonte.
The work grew into district and zone leadership. Places like Varginha and
Sete Lagoas still sit in memory as texture, not a checklist.
In August 2026 Mandy and I return to Brazil after about 27 years: people,
place, a temple dedication, and a mission reunion. The point is
reconnection, not a pitch.
More on Brazil
(mission arc and return).
An anniversary trip with friends took Mandy and me through Venice, then
Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, and Brindisi. Good company, new streets, and
time away from the usual week.
More on Italy
(Venice beats from the Aegean cruise).
Outside work, I look for conversations that leave both people sharper.
Prefer honesty over performance. Prefer a good question over a polished
answer that does not hold.
